United Way Toronto-Rouge Masquerade Gala 2009

7th Annual Rouge Masquerade Gala A Success

On November 14th, 2009 United Way Toronto put on its 7th Annual Rouge Masquerade Gala at the lavish One King West Hotel & Residence.  Not only was this year hosted by Lainey from and Etalk, but it also featured an array of talented performs varying from dancers to musicians to DJs.  The organizers were completely shocked to learn that this year this one of a kind event completely sold out, the venue was at capacity with over 800 extremely well dressed attendees.  With each year that this spectacular evening of formal wear, masks, music and silent auction has been hosted the number of guests just kept increasing and increasing!

As most do know United Way is a charitable organization providing health and social services to thousands of people across the city, therefore all proceeds from the event contributed to the United Way Toronto Community Fund which in turn supports a network of over 200 agencies and their dependants.

Recording Artist Nala Burdyna and her 5 piece Toronto band NALA

On the list of musicians in the upstairs lounge there were some inspiring Acoustic/ Folk sounds from Ariel Fitz, followed by R&B/ Jazz powerhouse vocalist & pianist Morgan Sandler.  The evening did not end there, for a boost of energy the sounds of Alternative Up-Tempo R&B were heard from a 5 piece Toronto band NALA fronted by Nala Burdyna

Dance Troupe from Lindsay Ritter Productions

On the main stage there were many dance performances which included Lindsay Ritter Productions, Steps Dance Studio, Culture Shock Toronto, and Christine Tavares Choreography.  And as usual the DJs for the evening; Dave LaMerde and Dougie Boom, kept the dance floor jumping straight through to the very end.  In a nut shell the event was a great success for all!
