Two years after its initial release in France, Belgium & Switzerland; Roch Voisine’s AMERICANA album gets a warmer than warm welcome on this side of the Atlantic. Released to retail September 14th on his own label, RV International and distributed by Select Distribution, AMERICANA shot to #1 on Canadian Soundscan Charts in Quebec immediately and has dominated that spot for the 3rd consecutive week. Reflecting sales of 11,200 last week and, Soundscan reporting sales closing in on 25,000 units sold in all of Canada to date, the New Brunswick born singer makes an undeniable entrance onto the hit parade by overtaking the #1 position nationally this week. The fans have spoken!
The advent of AMERICANA has been anxiously awaited since the first single from this album, “City of New Orleans - Salut les amoureux” was released and dominated the radio charts in Quebec for many weeks. The follow-up single, “Crazy” – the famous Patsy Cline song, is scheduled to go to radio later this month.
