Winners of Toronto Exclusive Magazine's “Best International Rock Song of 2009”, Australian group MerciRiva sign their winning tune “An Emergency” to McCartney’s New York Publishing company.

MerciRiva were drawn to make music that matters in late 2009. Wearing only grey, the group are a blank canvass who are letting their brand of acoustic-fuelled radio-ready pop/rock speak for itself, twice taking out “Track of the Day” on GarageBand, along with a string of awards from international songwriting competitions.

Founded by published creative writer, John Tomaino, MerciRiva’s music is a showcase for songs that do more than just provide short-term entertainment. “It’s music with an extended warranty”, says John.

In 2010, MerciRiva recorded 4 radio-ready tracks with renowned Australian producer Stuart-Stuart (The Veronicas), and the band continue to receive glowing reviews, including from Grammy winning legendary producer, Scott Mathews (Orbison, Bowie, Cash, Stones, Beach Boys, Clapton, Santana):

Hook after hook after hook! Never let me down, always lift me up! So great on so many levels. Go get 'em, baby!”
