It was a whopping 92 F (and because we are a Canadian magazine) it was a whopping 32 C in New York City, New York. The H.E.A.T. was definitely on for July 10th weekend at New York City's Amnesia Nightclub.

The H.E.A.T (H.ot E.lectrifying A.lluring T.empting) was the place to be. Organized by seven men, Pim Shih (Public Relations Manager), Robert Taliver (Show Coordinator), Ron Lai (Interactive Producer), Jamil St.Hilaire (Business Manager), Eric Perkins (Lighting and Floor Director), Leo Mordis (Marketing Manager) and Taylor Spears (Assistant Show Coordinator) all came together to form "The Set NYC" http://thesetnyc.com/

Hosted by Harrison Greenbaum, creator of stand-up comedy: LIVE at the SAGE Theather and contributor writer for MAD Magazine, the show was filled with live performances including a singer/songwriter Jurnee Lane who electrified the crowd with her amazing vocals, Beyond Dance Company-Freda Persson just made you want to get on up and dance until your heart was content and DJ Mikey Beats stayed on point with the crowd and the latest in today music.

Of course, the fashion was hot and at its best with Hummingbird Couture featuring a collection of flowing vibrant fitted dresses, A-line flowing skirts and rouched shorts with baby Ts. Check out www.hummingbirdcouture.com. Fashion dress shirts and neckwear by Steven Land were brilliant, reminding me of "Alice in Wonderland". The male models came out looking as sharp as ever with three buttons single breasted Vivalvi suits designed by Robert Taliver. Before undressing the men on stage revealing their swimwear by Mens Underwear Store, (www.mensunderwearstore.com), came women’s swimwear bikinis by 123underwear. Followed by a collection of cocktail evening dresses that were creatively sleek and daring by Generations by Danka. Ending the show was Jaewoo Kim with his pleated detailing “Matrix” style coats, geometrical cut jackets, cocktail pleated cut out dresses and a finale of futuristic face and body armour. The hair and make-up by An’jels went seamless from one hair style to the next contrasting each style.

With these seven men getting together(The Set NYC) by chance and coincidence they have been showcasing for two years strong once every month, featuring all types of variety acts, make-up artists, stylists...etc. working hard to promote in all aspects of the arts. Their mission is to take up and coming artists, singers, dancers, designers, comedians...etc.and showcase them to other shows and events. With the ambitious minds of these seven men who hope to franchise out their growing empire, they have definitely proven that they have the staying power for New York City's make you or brake you attitude.
